Wasatch Mountain Music Festival July 8-10, 2022

    Be A Volunteer!

    Volunteer Form:

Volunteers are heart and soul of TedFest.  For volunteering 4- hour two shifts, You'll get a complimentary 3-day festival and camping pass. Volunteering is fun, and you'll make lots of new friends.

Please fill out the Volunteer Form to get started, and pick at least !  3 types of jobs:

    Promotion:
Help us put up posters, make some waves on social media, or tap into an emailing list with a contest, discount or ticket giveaway.

For flyers and posters, send us your address and we'll send you some flyers and posters you can distribute.  We will coordinate with you on what area you will be covering.  You will be required to send us a nice picture of you posting flyers as proof of your work!

For social media or emailing lists, if you have a following on social media or have connections with an influencer we'd love to work with you on some social media ideas.  If you have connections to an emailing list of some kind, we'd love to work with you on a contest, discounts, or ticket giveaways.

    Setup and Breakdown:
Do you like relaxing, listening to music, jamming and hanging out with friends uninterrupted during the festival? This is for you! There are many types of work to do in setup and breakdown. Some involve actual carpentry and construction, but a lot of them involve simple things like unpacking and packing boxes, putting up/removing area signs, putting stakes in the ground, stringing twinkle lights, misters, setting up and taking down stations: stages, hospitality area, merch area, etc., tables, tents, signs, trash cans, chairs, etc... Requirements are availability a day or two before and after the Festival.  This is a perfect job for people who want to simply enjoy the festival, and have hands on skills with lifting and building stuff, or the ability to clean and organize things into boxes.

    Front Gate/Tickets:
This involves being on the front line with a positive personality and a sense of fun. You will work under the guidance of the Gate Captain and sell tickets to festival attendees and put wristbands on folks as they come through the gate. You may also be pulled to work at the Free Gate, checking in bands, volunteers, vendors, and guests. Would like someone on-call to alleviate gate personnel for bio breaks etc.

    Merch Tent:
You will work under the guidance of the Merch Coordinator, Sandra, and sell CDs, vinyl's, shirts, etc. for bands as they are performing on stage and the festival merch. This is an important revenue source for the bands, and it includes presenting yourself to the band managers in a professional manner, handling their merchandise and money.

    Security:
Help patrol the festival grounds and make sure people are safe and having a good time.  You'll also be able to answer questions and point people in the right direction. Help keep the fire lane clear of vehicles and monitor backstage VIP parking.

    Parking:
This involves pointing and smiling, and saying ‘welcome to TedFest!” You’ll need a sun hat, and a bottle of water, you will get the cars started in straight lines in the field, and direct people towards overflow and ADA parking when needed.

    Camping Coordinator:
Camping is a fun part of the festival and you will help direct people to appropriate spots for camping, making sure they are in the designated camping areas: VIP, RV/Vehicle, and tent camping.

    Green Team:
As a member of the Green Team you will ensure the toilets and hand washing stations have toilet paper, soap, and water. You will monitor the garbage cans in the entire festival and change them them when full. You can check with campers and vendors for trash. You may have access to a golf cart for use outside the music area and a dumpster will be onsite.

    Hospitality Tent/Green Room
You will work under the direction of the Hospitality Coordinator Micah. Shifts start a little earlier to start coffee, first one up starts the coffee, last one up preps it. Keep tables clean and do dishes, prep and replenish food, cut fruit and display snacks, stock beverages and ice. This is a space for bands, sponsors, and VIP guests to get food and beverages throughout the festival. Keep it clean and friendly. Monitor for required wristbands. Any adult beverages must be secured from minors and monitored. Dinner is usually catered and they arrive at 3pm Friday and Saturday for set-up. The tables need to be cleared and ready for them.  Sunday Pancake Breakfast is served to remaining festivarians (approximately 150 people). Help keeping warming dishes full of pancakes and warm, condiments set out, fruit cut, toppings out, batter mixed, utensils out, tables cleaned etc. is needed.

    Shuttle Service:
TedFest has 3 stages. The 3rd is a bit of a walk and some of the parking is far. Would like a few people Friday and Saturday to shuttle those needing a lift to and from the stages, ADA parking, etc. in a golf cart.

    Floater/as needed:
We may not be able to fill all positions or some areas or may have unforeseen circumstances. Ideally, floaters will have volunteered for the festival before and be familiar with multiple areas and duties and be on call to assist where needed.

    FAQs:

Volunteers may collect their festival pass and camping pass at the front gate when they arrive. Then they can go set up their campsite. They must check in at the Volunteer HQ (near the merch tent) 15 minutes before their shift. TedFest provides any needed equipment like a radio, vest, map, instructions, etc. When volunteers are done with their shifts, return any supplies.

    TEDFEST VOLUNTEER EXPECTATIONS:

All TedFest volunteers must sign in at the front gate.

Volunteers represent the festival and as such, are required to remain free of the influence of illegal drugs, inhalants or alcohol while performing volunteer work. Volunteers must not report for duty while under the influence of any drug or alcoholic substance. Violation of this policy will result in immediate discharge from the volunteer program and from the festival grounds.

Safety at TedFest is a top priority. All accidents are preventable. TedFest volunteers are responsible for their safety, the safety of their fellow volunteers and attendees. All injuries or accidents must be reported directly to staff.

    Our Expectations:

    Report ON TIME.
We expect volunteers to work two 4-hour shifts for a full weekend pass with camping.
Strive for kindness, generosity, maturity, friendliness, honesty, civility and respect when dealing with everyone you meet.
No rudeness, ridiculing, aggressive behavior, disrespectful language or acting irresponsibly.
Make your best effort to help festival patrons.  They are the reason we are here and they are paying to enjoy the festival.
    Wear suitable clothing, reasonably clean.
Maintain excellent housekeeping, help remove rubbish and leave area clean.
If you have complaints, issues and/or questions about any volunteer’s actions or decisions, please take it up privately with that person. Loud complaints in front of patrons about the festival or its staff does not solve the issue, nor does it enhance the reputation of the festival as a laid back, family friendly environment.

On behalf of the festival staff, we hope that you have a great experience. We appreciate your hard work.

TedFest is produced by Vibrant America Inc., a  501 ( c )( 3)  nonprofit organized for the purpose of teaching and preserving our heritage of Folk and American Roots Music.
